Teen pitch in to help local church

What are Saturday mornings for most teens? Sleeping in? Lots of TV? Playing some Video Games? Yeah, Saturday mornings for teenagers can be pretty relaxing.

Last Saturday, 17 teens and chaperones chose heat and hard work over rest and relaxation. They spent their morning and part of their afternoon insulating attics, scraping floors, staining ceilings, sweeping rooms, and cleaning worksites. They learned a few things too.

Insulation is itchy.
Scraping a floor clean of glue and gunk is not easy.
Staining is more art than science.
Trash and junk can accumulate anywhere.

They learned something more - the joy of service. Joy of serving fellow brothers and sisters in faith who are building their very church of their own - something we've enjoyed here at Faith for years - they will soon get to enjoy for decades. Joy of serving our Lord through serving others. That joy made the heat and hard work not just bearable, but enjoyable.

Thank you, teens and chaperones, for your service!
