One of the things that makes Faith very unique is its emphasis on active and consistent outreach. Part of that emphasis has been trying to connect with people in the neighborhoods right around our church. One way we do this is hanging information about events, our church, and our preschool on doorknobs. This is probably better known as "canvassing."
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, we had a congregational canvass were about 40 of our members took door hangers to neighborhoods north of our congregation. We had folks from 3 years old to almost 80 years old there, and everyone really enjoyed it. Many hands make light work. Overall, we got about 1000 door hangers out on Wednesday night.
If you've never tried a congregational canvass, they are an easy way for you to live out God's command to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19) by getting them in touch with a congregation that preaches the gospel of free forgiveness from God through Jesus. We have another one coming up right before Easter. If you didn't make this one, we hope you can join us in the Spring.
Serving Jesus with you,
Vicar Caleb Schultz
