On Sunday, November 10th, Faith Lutheran Church hosted its annual Fall Festival for the community. Our day began at 10:30 with worship, which involved a special choir of nearly 50 voices. Pastor Schroeder's sermon, entitled "Run the Race," encouraged us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the starter and finisher of our faith. After worship ended, everyone filed out to enjoy a delicious lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, salads, and deserts. Games, prizes, and activities were held just outside the church.
The festival included hay rides, horses, a bounce house, live music, a lollipop tree, face painting, horse rides, hair painting, a cakewalk, a craft booth, donut bobbing, a family photo booth, a fishing game, golf chipping, popcorn and cotton candy, horses, a police car and fire truck, and other games as well...and did I mention horse rides? Over 300 people attended this year's Fall Festival.
The Lord blessed this year's festival with gorgeous weather--70 degrees and mostly sunny--allowing everyone to enjoy a few hours of delicious food, fun times, sugar-loaded children, and great conversation with old friends and new.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who pitched in to make this day a success! Cooking, cleaning, candy and food donations, set-up, running the various booths, supervising activities...the list goes on. Lots of willing volunteers all contributed to making this a fun and rewarding event.
