Our Worship

When you come through our doors you'll be in our gathering area. Members of Faith and our guests visit before entering the sanctuary for worship.

Where to Sit

Feel free to sit wherever you'd like, whether the front or the back. If you need assistance an usher will help you.

What to Wear

Come as you are. We aren't worried about what you're wearing.

What About the Kids

Kids of all ages are welcome at Faith. We encourage kids and their parents to grow in faith together as they hear God's word and sing his praise.

  • The pastor delivers a special children's message right before the first reading from God’s Word.

  • Speakers in the cry room allow you to follow along with the service if you need to step out with your child.

  • Covid Cancellation: We provide a staffed nursery to meet the needs of parents with small children.

Our Beliefs

  • We are a Biblical church giving God's word first place in our faith and life.

  • We are a Lutheran church that proclaims forgiveness for all through Jesus Christ.

  • We are a Christian church that gathers to praise God, to be strengthened by his word, and to reach out to those around us in Christian love.

Our History

We dedicated our building in 2004 as a place where the community could be served by the Word of God.

We dedicated our building in 2004 as a place where the community could be served by the Word of God.

Faith Lutheran was founded in 2001 here in Sharpsburg and began work reaching out to the residents of Coweta and Fayette counties. With an emphasis on the word of God, relevant preaching, and outreach, Faith has grown in size but our core beliefs haven't changed a bit. We still focus all we do on God's word, proclaiming forgiveness to our friends and neighbors.

Everything we do is a fruit of our faith. God sent his son Jesus to take away our sins and remove our guilt forever, so it's only natural that we serve him with thanks. Faith Lutheran is an important member of the community. Through our preschool, camps, and other events we enjoy actively helping our friends and neighbors in all sorts of ways.

But our local church has broader reach than just Coweta and Fayette counties. Through our partnership with our national church body, we help spread God's kingdom throughout the world.

Our Denomination

Faith Lutheran Church is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS, characterized as theologically conservative, is the third largest Lutheran church body in America. With national offices in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WELS began in 1850 when three German pastors met in Milwaukee. Today, it has grown to over 1200 congregations in North America. It has over 400,000 baptized members, which includes over 300,000 communicants, served by over 1000 pastors.

The synod operates four ministerial education schools: Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wisconsin; Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minnesota; Luther Preparatory School, Watertown, Wisconsin; and Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Michigan.

As members of the WELS, we share with our fellow believers in our synod's stated mission:

As men, women, and children united in faith and worship by the Word of God, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod exists to make disciples throughout the world for time and for eternity, using the gospel in word and sacrament to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.
